Advancing Sustainability and Professional Growth in ASEAN: The Intersection of Accounting, Fintech, and Regional Integration

The 4th ASEAN CPA Conference was held on 18 July, 2025, at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Hotel, Phnom Penh, under the theme “Advancing Sustainability and Professional Growth in ASEAN: The Intersection of Accounting, Fintech, and Regional Integration.” The conference was presided over by H.E. Mr. Ngy Tayi, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and attended by the ACPACC Secretariat, ASEAN Member States, senior officials, management, officers, representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, and delegates from seven ASEAN member states. The conference welcomed approximately 350 national and international participants.
H.E. Mr. Bou Tharin, Director General of the Accounting and Auditing Regulator and Chairman of the ACPACC, expressed his gratitude to H.E. Mr. Ngy Tayi for presiding over the event and emphasized the objective of organizing the conference in alignment with the ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant framework under the Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) on Accountancy Services. He also highlighted the conference’s significance as a platform for sharing new experiences and knowledge among regulators, policymakers, professional institutes, certified public accountants, and experts from across ASEAN member states.
Key topics of the conference included discussing the challenge and opportunities for the sustainability report in emerging ASEAN economies, the strategic role of CPAs in promoting reliable sustainability reporting, the path to ASEAN CPA, enhancing quality assurance in ASEAN, and panel discussions on the mobility of ASEAN CPAs & RFPAs across ASEAN. In closing remarks, Mr. Khun Darith, Chairman of the Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors, expressed his appreciation for the active engagement and knowledge exchange during the event.
